Miami is an expansive city with each area possessing its own personality and attributes. The Downtown area is in the center of it all with beaches to the east, cultural and financial centers to the south. Just beyond the center, you’ll find new emerging neighborhoods that are giving downtown a renewed excitement and alternative urban lifestyle to Miami. It’s a take on New York as the developments add to what downtown already has to offer in terms of entertainment and cultural options.
Midtown Miami and the Arts & Entertainment District (Miami Arts District) are Miami’s newest and emerging neighborhoods. Both are located north of Downtown Miami. The Miami Arts District is located north of Downtown Miami’s Central Business District running along Biscayne Blvd. from Bicentennial Park to NE 24th Street. In the beginning, Midtown was as a visualization of a Miami urban neighborhood where people could live, work and play.
Today it is a reality consisting of Midtown Miami condos and its 54-acre development. Midtown Miami extends between NE 30th Street and NE 35th Street on NE 2nd and North Miami Avenues. The Miami Design District is located a few blocks north and is also fast becoming an attractive neighborhood for shopping, dining and living and a well-deserved alternative to South Beach. Both Midtown Miami and the Design District are thriving hubs for rising artists, art galleries, special exhibitions and installations, and each brings an array of cultural, entertainment and fashion events to the area throughout the year.
